One of the main problems faced by the advertisers over the years has been fixed by Online Ad Targeting system. The problem is related to how to get people exactly the ad that they want to see. The billboard has been an ineffective way to achieve this. Thousands of people drive by the billboard but very few of them care about the items being advertised. The ads are going to change if the person changes his or her status to being in a relationship. Now the advertisements would change to engagement rings, flowers, and such things. If the person now changes the profile showing engagement then the ads start showing houses available for sale or apartments that can be rented.

Users benefit from this system as well. When people have to go through advertisements that are of no use to them, then they feel very frustrated. If beer is being advertised during a football game, while the match is being watched by an eight year old then the advertisement has no value for the child. A married woman is not going to check advertisements of online dating sites. But nowadays on the internet specific ads are placed targeting the exact consumers who are interested in that type of product or service.

The use of online ad targeting by businesses has been increasing. It is a new system that is taking root and only time will tell if it is going to be successful. However, from the marketing points of view it has been showing positive results.
